Why having depression makes me want to travel more

Why having depression makes me want to travel more

There’s no way of denying the fact that each one of us goes through the low phases of life, and often struggle hard to overcome them. While for some, it’s a moderate situation with on & off phases of sadness, guilt, lack of confidence etc., for others, it’s more grave, leading to chronic depression where one can’t concentrate in anything, keeps being lost or constantly ponders of past mistakes, trying to find out answers to questions which have no sense! ‘Depression’ is a sort of mental illness that was regarded as a taboo till the last couple of decades when people would keep themselves in a box, and never talk about things that bother them to a great extent. But with the change in time, the trend has changed and now, the remedy for ‘depression’ is to talk rather than to sulk. By talking, I don’t mean verbal conversation all the time, but it can be any mode of expression. One can seek help from colors and a paintbrush, to pour...
I’m Going To Portugal

I’m Going To Portugal

I have some super exciting news: I’m off to Portugal for a week at the end of this month, and I’m literally desperate for a relaxing week in the sun! I’ve never been to Portugal before, which was the reason myself and my boyfriend decided to chose this place as our next holiday destination. I mean, I tend to travel a lot, so it’s kinda strange I’ve left it so long to explore this place… So it’s the total opposite end of the holiday spectrum to my earlier trip this year – a beautiful week in Phuket, Thailand. As I don’t know too much about Albufeira, and Portugal in general, I’m totally up for hearing your recommendations: where is good to day trip? Any great eating destinations? Favourite beach in Portugal? Hit me up guys – I wanna hear alllllll your thoughts! So whilst I leave the...

Things to consider when going skiing

The last time I went skiing was about three years ago with Cosmos Holidays. I was on a press trip at the time and I was one of two journalists who hadn’t ever skied a black run. Well, firstly they used terminology that I’d have to translate using some sort of ski dictionary, and secondly some of them paid extra to have extra long skis – to make them go faster apparently. Talk about feeling like an amateur…little old me with my bum bag and my mum’s Salopettes! But don’t get me wrong. I knew how to ski; years of annual ski holidays as a kid meant that I was a pretty dab hand on the slopes, but I just couldn’t tackle the black runs – not yet anyway. Plus – and the big factor here – I hadn’t been skiing in years, so I didn’t know how quickly I would pick it up again – if at all. To cut a long story short, I needn’t have worried. I discovered that skiing is very much like...
