Thinking about birthdays…

It’s my birthday next week. I have a love/hate relationship with birthdays but they’re becoming more enjoyable as S gets older. Except for last year, obviously – she was so ill with chicken pox our planned weekend away was replaced with a mad dash to the GP for antibiotics! This year people have been asking me what I would like for my birthday, and as usual I am short on ideas. My lifestyle means that I don’t really need a lot of things – actually what I probably need is a good clear out of this cluttered old house! Summer plans – travel, work and family

As we seem to be moving through June at an alarming rate, I am currently making some plans for the Summer holidays, which will be upon us very soon. I also find myself to be more productive at this time of the year, which may or may not be linked to the sunshine. This summer may well be the time when I...
How many New Year’s resolutions have you ticked off 6 months in?

How many New Year’s resolutions have you ticked off 6 months in?

When January 1st arrives, we all greet it with a sense of optimism and opportunity. It’s the perfect time to lay out plans for the coming year. And, to be honest with ourselves about what we need to change. It’s fair to say that everybody probably has New Year’s Resolutions, even if they don’t want to admit it. When the countdown to midnight is over, Auld Lang Syne has faded, and we’ve finished the last of the champers, we all begin to look forward to the coming year. Well, now we’re 6 months in, how do you think you’ve done? This is the bit we all dread, right? Halfway through the year, and we have to look at what our goals for the year were, and how many of them we’ve actually accomplished. This post is going to delve a little further into what some of these goals might have been. And how you can go about bossing them in the second half of 2018! Get Your Life in Order How many of us probably had this one at the top of our lists?!...
